Porcelain Onlays Procedure

Your tooth will be numbed at the start of the procedure to allow for the easy removal of decay and leftover materials from previous fillings. Our skilled dentist will then prepare the tooth and shape it to accommodate the porcelain onlay. A temporary restoration will have to be inserted if CEREC technology is not available. This will remain in until the second appointment when the custom onlay is cemented in.

The follow-up appointment involves the cementing of porcelain onlay on the affected tooth. To guarantee a comfortable fit, several adjustments will be made. Our mission is to install onlays that are not only comfortable in your mouth but those that allow you to chew normally.

What is getting an onlay like?

At King West Dentistry, we value your time and comfort. When CEREC technology is suitable, porcelain onlays may be completed in a single appointment. If your onlay needs to be created by an off-site dental laboratory, you may need two appointments.
